“….Her voice blew me away…She is truly unforgettable.” - Jude Law “Acantha delivers passionate and energetic performances. A woman full of soul with an incredible voice.” - Robert Randolph (Robert Randolph & The Family Band) Rolling Stones 100 Greatest Guitarists “You have one of the best voices I've ever heard.” - Simon Cowell Acantha Lang has been making quite a name for herself since recently relocating to London. Although born in the rich musical landscape of New Orleans, her desire to sing was really kindled after she moved to New York City and bought her first Blues CD, and as she says "it felt like home". She immersed herself in the Blues, studying its history, music and greats such as Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters. She put together a band and landed a residency at the Harlem Grill where her highly lauded 'Monday Night Blues' performances were described as "an amalgamation of Tina Turner, James Brown, and Janis Joplin". It wasn't long before she was being asked to perform at various prestigious venues around New York, including The Box (one of the hottest clubs in the country). Acantha's initial role was as Chanteuse but she was quickly upgraded to Master of Ceremonies, becoming the first-ever female compere of the infamous nightclub. In 2012, she was asked to relocate to London to recreate her role as MC for the newly opened sister club, The Box London (Soho). Unsurprisingly, performing regularly at such a well-known venue has helped rapidly establish Acantha as an artist of real talent and authority. As well as New York and London, Acantha has performed in Africa, French Guiana, China, Russia, and throughout Europe and has been heralded as a force to be reckoned with by the likes of Sting and Axl Rose.
